Kelly Slater has always been my favourite surfer. The things he does on waves are incredible. The first event I went and watched was the 2006 Rip Curl Pro at Bells, and he absolutely ripped, my camera gear back then wasn’t very good so I didn’t get any great shots. Since I have lived on the Gold Coast I have been lucky enough to see him surf in some amazing heats in the Quiky Pro and have also seen him free surfing a fair bit. For a guy who is 38 he surfs like a 20 year old, and he actually seems to be getting better. He would have to go down in history as the best Sportsman of all time, he pretty much has every record in surfing and his career has spanned near on 20 years and he has been winning world titles at the start and end. not many athletes in any sport stay up the top for that long let alone get 10 world titles.
